As the weather warms and the kids are released from school the allure to take a road trip becomes stronger. Not only does the season change warrant a vehicle check-up, you wouldn’t want to have an emergency several miles from home because you didn’t know a component needed attention. The crew at Street Tech wants to give our customers the tips they need to have a memorable and safe road trip.
Planning for your summer road trip means setting dates for your travel. Once you know when those dates are call up your trusty Street Tech mechanic and make an appointment for a week before your trip. People tend to put off their courtesy inspection and oil service until right before their trip. Doing this does not allow for the mechanic to fix vehicle issues they may encounter and need to repair before your trip. Nobody wants to delay their trip due to the need for new brakes, or they just found out they need a new radiator hose. Giving your trusted auto shop the time it needs to ensure your safe road trip will give you piece of mind before and during your summer adventure.
So the fluids are topped off and you know your vehicle is safe to ride off into the sunset. There are still a few minor things you can do to prepare for that long haul. Make sure to pack an emergency roadside kit for your car. You can purchase one from auto-parts stores, department stores, you can buy one online, or you can pack your own. Make sure the kit you select has the following items:
- tire changing kit (jack, lug nut wrench, hubcap tool, inflated spare tire)
